Recently I had one of those days where I couldn’t help but think, ‘Gosh, God really hears our prayers.’
Back in 2016 I did my first bible study. I was in college and it was when I was starting to grow more in my faith. I found a bible study on the The Bible Timeline: The Story of Salvation from Jeff Cavins. I absolutely loved it! It help me learn and understand so much more about the Bible and it really started my loved for scripture. From there I bought several of Jeff Cavins’ books and I even went to a local parish to hear him give a talk.
During this time I was praying, asking God to help me find a job within the Church. I wanted so badly to work for a Catholic organization or a Catholic Church, but I never felt good enough because I didn’t go to a Catholic university so I thought I had no chance.
Then found Fr. Mike Schmitz’s Ascension videos. I watched them all and wouldn’t miss any. When I started dating my now husband I introduced him to Fr. Mike’s videos. It was thanks to these videos that he decided to convert to Catholicism almost 3 years ago.
Fast forward to present day and I was given the opportunity to be in a press conference hosted by Ascension with Fr. Mike and Jeff Cavins. After the press conference ended, it hit me that I had just been in a press conference with two people who played a huge role in my faith journey. One started my love and desire to dive into scripture and the other helped my husband become a Catholic.
It also hit me that God had answered my prayer to work for the Catholic Church in the most beautiful way. The girl who never felt good enough to work for the Church was now representing Catholic News Agency in a press conference with two of the biggest names in the Catholic world, and two of the people she looked up to all those years praying that God would make my dream come true to work for the Church. It was such a full circle moment and I couldn’t help but see God all over it.
So if you’re praying for something right now, trust that God hears you and will answer you in a way better than you could even imagine. It might not happen tomorrow, or next week, or even next year, but it will happen in God’s perfect timing.
