Why could this be? Because in that ultrasound they are able to see a beautiful child forming in their womb. They are able to see the unborn baby’s little feet and hands, seem them kick or move around and, most importantly, they are able to hear the baby’s heartbeat.
A baby’s heartbeat can be heard as early as 3 weeks. How incredible is that? A small heart, beating so fast. This is not a clump of a cells. This is an individual, with its own genetic composition, who deserves to be protected and given a right to life. Many states have laws in place requiring an ultrasound be given before a woman can undergo an abortion. Why? Because when a woman hears her baby’s heartbeat, there can be no denying that she is carrying a life within her.
